Prime beef showed an advance, the supply being shorter than previous weeks. The few new season's fat lambs penned-brought high prices. - The fat sheep sold opened atj about last, week's rates; in the.store sheep department ljoggets and,wethers showed a decided, advance- in value'. MARKET. . • .Dunedin, September 22. . -At Burnside to-day, 134 fat cattle wero yarded, the built being good to prime beef, and as the yarding was below the average there was a rise of 15s. to 20s. per head, as compared with late rates; competition .was-keen, and a splendid sale resulted. Fat pigs met with-a good demand, especially baconers, which were in short supply. Stores met with slow sale, and towards the finish it wa6 difficult'to effect sales.
