A SENSATIONAL SMASH
MOTOR RUNS INTO AN EXPRESS: A rather sensational accident occurred near the To Aro Railway Station yesterday evening at about 6:30 o'clock. A motor-car, owned by Mr. Kolin, and driven b.v a man named Fox, was proceeding in tho direction of the Town Hall, and when at the bottom of ITaranaki Street it cut. across the street without the slightest warning and crashed clean through an express on the opposite sido of the street, rind travelling in tlio opposite direction. The body of tho cartf parted company with tho. horse and shafts, while tho driver of the.expreuc (David Williams) was flung on to the road as tho result of tho impact. . Tin? motor-car came to a stop a few yards from where the 'collision occurred. Fortunately no one was injured, tho horso faring tho worst, being bruised and cut. -A policeman who camo on the scene arrested the driver of the motor-car, who will appear in court this morning.. ■
