GAS POISONING FATALITIES
WRITS FOR, £3000 ISSUED. Yesterday: three writs each for £1000 were served on the Wellington Gas Company in resect to \,ho deaths-from' coal gas i»isoiling at Wellington on April 30' last of three Chinese, Young' Wong,' Young Chung, and Young King. The writs' were issued cn behalf of the widows of deceased, and for the administrators of 'tlie respective estates. The three Chinese were found dead in a room at 328 Tiuakori Road, and at the inquest on Stay 28 the coroncr returned a verdict, "That the deceased died from coal gas poisoning, due to an accidental escape of gas from the service mains caused by an abnormal gas pressure being exerted from the Mirainar manufacturing station after 10 p.m. on Anril 29, .which, the governor ■in the high-pressure main at Onepu Road failed to regulate."
