. THE PROPOSED CAMP. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, September 20. The Tunnelling Company of Engineers which is being raised by tho Defence Department at the request of Imperial Government will:probably go into camp at Avondale Racecourse. The whole, of the buildings 'and grounds have been, placed at the disposal of the local military authorities by tho Avondale Jockey Club, and subject to the approval of Major Talbot, P.M.0., the offer will bo accepted. The authorities hope to have by the end of this week a good idea of the number of men who are likely to offer their services. A number of men presented themselves for enlistment,at the_ drill hall to-day, and further local enlistments are expected daily* this week.
