MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. D. Q. A. Cooper, S.M., presided over a sitting of the Magistrate s Court on Saturday. Kathleen Brady, an' old offender, was lined £1, in default three days' imprisonment, for drunkenness; a similar penalty- for indecency and eighteen months' imprisonment for being a rogue and a vagabond". On the application of Inspector Hendrey,' James Oliver Armstrong and Rudolph Allan were remanded till to-day on a charge of stealing a case of oranges, valuedat £1 2s. Gd., the property of Ah Chang. Peter Chalmers was convicted and discharged for insobriety, and fined £2, with an option ol'-soven days' imprisonment, for using obscene language. For insobriety, Emma Crawford was fined £2, in default seven days' imprisonment; Nora Nugent was fined £1, or three days' imprisonment; and Robert Lavell and James Clarke each fined 10s., or forty-eight hours' imprisonment.
