Replying to a resolution passed at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union congratulating the New Zsalandere on their gallant achievements in the Dardanelles, General Godley says:—"On behalf of all ranks of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force I beg to thank you very much for your letter of May 18, which has been communicated to all troops. It is a>great satisfaction to- us that the New Zealand Rugby Football Union; should so heartily appreciate the gallant performances of the New Zealanders, whom 1 have the honour to ..command; no •troops could.have fought moro valiant- ' ly; than thoy have."
