OUR SOLDIERS UNIFORMS

NOT ALL LOCALLY MADE. As observant people may have noticed, a few. of the soldiers who returned by the Tahiti were wearing uniforms which ,wero : n6t niade.in- New Zealand. Myers, Minister for Equipment, said that the troops wero sent away fully equipped, and extra equipment w«s also sent to tho base in Egypt. . 1 i The Hon. Jas. Allen eaid that an arrangement had been made with the British Army Council by which the New Zealanders' were re-equipped from the British Ordiiancc Stores in Egypt, and a certain sum was paid by New "Zealand in consideration thereof. It might be possible) in future to manufacture sufficient supplies in the Dominion to Bend stores to. Egypt for re-equipment purposes, but the present arrangement was the more convenient ono just now. A: member: Some of the men were without overcoats. Dr. Thacker: A number of men went aboard the Tahiti in Egypt in their pyla.The' Minister:' Well, they would take no harm in Egypt on that account.
