GERMAN ATTACK NORTH OF SOUCHEZ ARTILLERY DUELS CONTINUE By Telegraph—P.resb Association—Copyright Paris, September 13. A communique states: "A German attack north of Souchez was easily repulsed. A mine duel south of the Somme before Fay stubbornly continues. "There has been a violent bombardment on the sectors of Armancourt and Beauvraignes and the plateaux of Quenneviores and Enouvron," (Rec. September 14, 10.40 p.m.) Paris, September 14. Official.—"Our artillery northward of the Oise destructively fired the fences and works at Beauvraignes, arid violently bombarded the trenches, batteries, and camps in the Sapigneul and Berry-au-Bac districts by wayof reprisals for the air raids on Luneville and Compeigne." HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. The High' Commissioner reports: London, September 14,1.25 a.m. "The cannonade continues. "A squadron of nineteen Franco-Brit-ish aeroplanes' flew over Treves to-day, throwing one hundred, shells. The railway station and the National Bank were hit. Other stations were bombed, and a travelling train was brought to a standstill." , THE BEMAN ARMY STRONG AND WELL ARMED Paris, September 13. A. Belgian officer states that the Belgian Army is more numerous and better armed than at the outbreak of the war. Despite the German occupation, tho response of the 1914, class showed only a B per cent, -decrease, and the home provinces a maximum decrease of 20 per cent. . - .
