MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL

At last night's meeting of the Miramar Borough Council the Mayor (Mr. F. Townsend) presided, and tliero were also present: Councillors S. M. Stone, li'. Hawthorn, W. H. Green, and J. Pollook. Leave of absence was granted to Councillors S. H. Underwood and M. Tracy, both of whom were unable to attend on account of illness. Letters from the Wellington Harbour 'Hoard, outlining the conditions under which the board would agree to the council laying down emergency outflow pipes over the foreshore from three borough- ejectors. The letters were received. The report of the Borough Engineer stated that the amount expended on wages during tho four weeks ended August 30 was £107 Is. 4d. Two connections had been made to the water mains and two connections to the sewerage The water connections now totalled 391, and the drainage connections 316. The report was adopted.
