At the annual meeting or the National Defence League it was held that it is now clearer than ever that, except by the adoption of national service, the leoruiting difficulty will never be satisfactorily overcome. HOME TRAINING SUSPENDED. (Rec. September 9, 9.5 p.m.) Melbourne, September 9. : Sanator Pearce (Federal Defence Minister) has announced that the training of the citizen forces and Senior Cadets will bo suspended for three months as from Ootober 1, in order that the instructional staff will, be available for the training of tie recruits for the expeditionary forces. Mr. Hughes-(Federal Attorney-Gen-eral), commenting on the judgment in the London Zinc Corporation, case, says that although he is unablo to say- how far the judgment is capable of general application to enemy contracts, even in its most limited form, it will help materially in freeing the industry, from the grip of the enemy.
