' The Supreme Court' was opened this morning, before Mr. Justice Denniston, who; congratulated, the. district on the remarkable freedom from serious crime. Only one criminal case was set down for • trial, and one prisoner was brought up for sentence.; . George Evans, who had pleaded ; guilty in the Lower Court to forging a'nd uttering a cheque and theft, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment. : .
