I PUBLIC SCHOOLS TOURNEY v | The Public Schools Rugby Tourney was, continued at Athletic Park yesterday .afternoon, when a team representing the Wellington Schools met, aad defeated'the Manawatu boys by 5 to nil. The teams were verV evenly-matched,-and 'until near the end of the second spell there was no score. Then Warden orossed tli© line for Wellington, Wright converting with a splendid kick. There was no further score._ A match was also played at Petone yesterday morning between Petone Technical School and tlie Hastings boys, resulting in an easy win for the 'Petono team by 24 to 6. J ' ' • The final match" will be played at Athletic Park on Wednesday afternoon, when Wellington will meet Wanganui. ' VISITORS ENTERTAINED. Last evening the visiting boys were given a dinner at the Normal School, Thorndon. Mr.. J. C. Burns, president of the Public Schools Rugby Union, ' presided, and there jvcre also present: i His Worship tlie Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), Mr. T. R. Fleming (Inspector of Schools), Mr. D. D. Woir, chairman of the Wellington' Rugby Union, and several teachers. .
