LICENSING COMMITTEE MEETS. _ The quarterly meeting of the Wellington District Licensing Comtaittee was held at the Magistrate's, Court at noon yesterdaiy There were present: Mr: W. G. Riddcll (chairman), and Messrs. R. Fletcher, G. J. Potherick, J. Smith, W. J. Helyer, and G. Tiller. The Chairman stated that the police report as to' the conduct .of' the hotels of the district was very, satisfactory, and tho committee was well satisfied with this.... . ' . , A transfer of the Shepherd's. Arms Hotel from A. Duggan to J. J. Marriott was granted. . ' : Superintendent Ellison added that tho name of the hotel had been changed from the Shepherd's Arms to the Western Park Hotel, adding that he understood the name of another city hotel had teen changed. 1 The Chairman said that the committee was of the -,j opinion that licensees must apply to it/for leave to change tho name of an hotel before putting up the new sign- on'the premises. •
