ROYAL LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY

ANNUAL REPORT CONSIDERED. Mr. G. S. Hill presided at a meeting of the executive of the Wellington Head Centre, of the Royal Life-Saving Society last evening. Mr. W. C. Collier, secretary, read the draft annual report, which will be presented at the annual meeting to be held on September 27. Schaefer method of resuscitation. : It was announced' that 300 awards had been gained by school children in swimming and, life-saving in Wellington Inst year. In special report to the Dominion Executive Council for the ;year ending July 31, 1 it'was stated that the activity of the Wellington Centre, during; the year, had been confined almost wholly to work among the schools, hoy scouts, colleges, and the more, remote parts of the Wellington Provincial District. Mr. T. Shields moved: "That this executive meet the. executive of< the local Competitive Centre in conferenco to formulate a scheme for a deputation to wait upon the Government regarding swimming and life-saving lessons in.public schools."
