MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. p. G. A. Cooper, S.M., presided, over a short sitting of the Magistrate's Court on Saturday morning. ■ Eva Grace Tooliill, who,was sentenced tlio previous day to the Salvation Army Homo for a period of twelve months, on two charges of theft, again appeared before the Court, ivhen, on the application of the police tlio sentence was amended. The Magistrate thereupon convicted her, and ordered her to como lip for sentence when called'upon-, on condition she remained in the Salvation Army Homo for six months. For insobriety, John Pryso was fined 405., in default sevon days' imprisonment, William Davis Williams fined 20s. or three days' imprisonment, and Marian M'Loughlin convicted and discharged' on condition tlmt she paid 15s. for a. taxi-cab that had been requisitioned to bring lior to the police station.
