WAS THERE A BETRAYAL? ' • The correspondent of the "Tribuna" 1 (Rome), writing from Cairo ,011 June 10, 1 gives what purports•. to bo a revelation' 1 of the betrayal to Germany by. a .Greek 1 high official of the plan of attack on : the Dardanelles. The plan is 'said to ■ liavo been communicated to Greeco when ' it was expected' that the kingdom_:would [ join. .. the Allies and take , part in : the ■ operations. Allied'troops disembarked they were metI by :the Titrkl from both sides ,of the 1 Dardanelles with vigorous resistance at' 1 the spots where the landings had been 1 'arranged to take place, and : with just • sufficient resistance where the landings 1, were merely a feint. These facts were attested by Australian troops, who have returned to Alexandria, and who asserted also that Greece was responsible.
