g— MEETING OF CONTROL, A meeting of the Rugby Union was held last evening, Mr. D. Weir presiding. A lotter ■was received' from the Hutt Club, complaining of what they thought was 'an attempt to close the fourth-class competition. It was decided to inform the Club that the competition was not being closed. . ' A communication was received from the Taranalci Rugby Union stating that they could send a team to Wellington on September 18. • A lengthy discussion took place npK>n t)hi> question of whether representative matches between provinces sliould not be regarded as regufar matches during the war period, or at least during the current year. It was decided, however, that the matches should count in tho ordinary way. ■ . It was decided that no representative .caps be issued this year. Owing to the Liability of the Bfch Reinforcements team to play a "curtain raiser" match'to tlie Auckland-Welling-ton match it was decided that a meeting be arranged between Old Boys fourthclass team and St. Patrick's-College.^-
