CENEROUS TO THEMSELVES.
.Sir,—l find fcliat in a time of stress when working people are advised to be thrifty and cut down their expenses and* forego their pleasures and luxuries (?) that the Ministers of the Crown have voted an additional £2000 per annum to themselves. May I inquire whether this is ■ pari of the ■ Reform policy, brought in by the jate Opposition, or the work of the Coalition Ministry? ' Without, wishing to criticise what no doubt was a perfectly legitimate proceeding, as it was passed unopposed, it would be : interesting to know whom the taxpayers have to thank. Will '.on kindly answer.—l am, etc., ! ' THRIFT. [Parliament voted the additional money' oil account of the increase in the number of Ministers.] :
PRAYER
Si)',—Will you kindly allow me just'.a few lines in your paper? I noticed a "Trooper's Mother"'letter about prayer in your Saturday's issue, alid,.would like just to say that I think sne is quite right in all sho says. Wo as a people are not' taking this war seriously enough. How many are-giving up their pleasures for prayer, which I think shonld be ddiie, and if hinds are needed for Our sick and wounded, then why not a prayer meeting and collection for the soldiers, which I think would be doubly blessed? God is tho giver of all things, and to Him wo should turn in,prayer for victory and pcacfe.—l am, etc., A TROOPER'S SISTER.
