KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL

1 The ordinary meeting ,of the Karori Borough Council was held last night. There were present: The Mayor (Mr. B. 6. H.'Bmu), and Councillors A. Hamilton., L. T\ Davies, K. Faire, T. Lower, h G. iiaine, J; T. Pell, G. G'.' Cooper, and W. S. fjkeg". A reply was received from the Tramways Department regarding a previous letter* of the,council in respect to the running, of tiie 5.2 p.m. Karori Park car ahead .of the Cemetery car leaving at tho same time. The traffic manager stated that : in his opinion this change would not .be..beneficial. A return was enclosed amplifying this statement. The letter was "received.":

. In liis- report to the council the' borough engineer (Mr. G. Yv'. Brigliam) stated that. various maintenance worK hail been 'carried out in the borough since last meeting .of the . council. Referring to the hockey grounds the engineer stated they were'in fair order. ■ A motion wa3 carried to the effect that tho City Council be written to asking that more prominent destination signs be placed on Ivarori cars.
