Defendant was convicted and discharged. Josiah Joseph Eord pleaded guilty to stealing a gallon of paint, valued at 3s. 6d., the property of the Railway Department, and was fined 205., in default 6even days' imprisonment. , , , , \ Mark Fraser Parr, who admitted falsely representing himself to be twentv-one i years of age, in order to procure lntoxibating liquor, was fined 10s., in default ! 48 hours' imprisonment. George Cavill was fined 205., with is. costs, in default three days' imprisonment . for riding a motor-cycle along Jackson 1 Street, Petone, at a-speed dangerous to pedestrians. Thos, M'lntosh was smular- | ly dealt with for driving a horse and ! trap furiously. ; AVilliam Morela'nd, John Lawlor, and ' Frank Wilson were each penalised to the extent of 55., with 7s. costs, in default > 24 hours 'imprisonment, for being on iil censed premises after hours. A further i chargo of giving a false name to the constable was preferred against Lawlor, ana , a similar fine was inflicted. William Henry Ellis was ordered to pay ! 10s. per week towards the support of his | mother, Elizabeth Eose Kelly, and to pay ; costs amounting to JCI Is. ■ !
