VICTORIA COLLEGE COUNCIL
A' meeting of the Victoria College Council was held last night. Mr. C. Watson presided. Tho Tutorial Class Committee reported haying dccidcd that" any now classes established this year should be. for half courses only; that they had recognised the class in English as a tutorial class, and had appointed Mr. W. H. L. Foster, M.A., tutor, and granted £10 for the library of the class.—The report was adopted. Tho Finance Committee recommended that, with regard to receipts and expenditure to March 31, 1916, (a) the sum of £1000 from the Rhodes bequest, and £500 subsidy thereon when received, should bo deposited in a special ac- ; count; (b) that a sum of £2000, tosefcher with the £472 2s. Gd. received from tho University, should be deposited in a special account for the School for Economics.—The recommendations were adopted.
