O'Brien, assistant New Zeilaad Commissioner at. the Panama Exposition, enclosing • "boosting" pamphlets issued by the different counties of California, aud.suggesting'tliat Now Zealand might follow their-steps in some respects. ' The secretary of the Auckland Association wrote respecting a. amalgamation? with the Empire Trade ■ League,!;imd sought the opinion of.the Wellington 'Association on the move. It was :decided to inquire, what, the aims and objects of the Empire Trade League' were before going into the matter. It was decided to recommend that, the annual meeting of the New Zealand Industrial' Corporation should be held'in Christdiwcli. The president stated that he had-had another talk with Mr; Lanrenson, president of the Christchurch Association, who felt that the New Zealand engineers had not gone about the matter of making ammunition in the right way a,t the start of the war. He felt that the Government should have been asked to tost the natural resources of the Dominion, and "held that there were rich ore deposit's in the Nelson district. It was decided to put the matter on the order paper for discussion by the Industrial Corporation. In the course of a brief discussion on the subject of finding work for disabled soldiers, Mr. Watkins suggested that the first step would be for the Government to keep a register of the.men requiring assistance. It was resolved to refer the matter to the Industrial Corporation for fuller discussion-. Mr. Robert Hall was elected a member of the association, as from the beginning of the New Year. , The annual meeting will be held after the next ordinary meeting in September. . , • '
