COALMINERS' DEMANDS
AN' ADVANCE IN WAGES. (By,Telegraph.—Press . Creymouth, August 16. The State Miners' • Union yesterday decided to ask the' Government to bring about a meeting of miners and the Federation 'of Coal Owners to discuss an advance ill wages, which the miners demand owing to the increaso in the cost of living, and thereby prevent any drastic action on the part of the union at a timo of stress, as .the union.lias no wish to bo compelled to take similar action as the Welsh- miners. A resolution was also passed calling on the Government to end the alleged victimisation practised on the waterfronts of New Zealand.
