THEFTS FROM HOTHTj BOABDERS. A vo.ing man named Arthur "WalterHenderson, who had ■ ten .sentenced earlier in the week for theft, appeared before Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court on baturday, and pleaded guilty to two charges of theft from tlio Pier Hotel: (1) lheffc of a brooch, valued at £] 10 s.. belonging to' "Winnie Hogatij ft)ul (2) theft of a ant. valued at from Mary M Gwigan. Chief Detective Boddam said that the thefts had been committed from rooms in the Pier Hotel. Accused had been going about systematically robbing boarders at hotels, and other charges were pending against him. On the first charge a sentence of seven days' imprisonment was imposed on the accused, and on the second, 0110 months imprisonment, the sentences to lie con : current, but fo commence at the expiration of the sentence he is at present undergoing. Henderson was remanded till Wednesday on a further charge of stealing various articles.
