Mgcty and Company, Ltd., Master.ton, report having' held" their usual .weekly sale at Taratahi on Monday, when 'ft' fair yarding of pood-quality sheep met with keen competition, and realised the following prices --Forward two-tooth wethers, off turnips, 265.; forward two-tooth ewes, 235. 3dv; forward empty ewes, Ms. Id.
, ~. BURNSIDE MARKET. (By Telegraph.—Press; Association.) ... ' Dunedin, August 11. There was e, medium yarding of fat cattle at Burneide to-day, 167 being penned. The quality on tho wholo was only fair. Tho prices for prime bullocks were a shade easior, and medium and inferior declined by 15s. per head. Best, bullocks, £11 10s. to £17; extra prime, to £18 10s.; •imedium, £12 lfe. to £13-10s.; inferior, £15 15s. to £11 55.; best cows and lieifere, £11 10s. to £13; medium, £9 ICe., to £10 10s.; inferior, £6 15s. to £7 10s.
There was c, fair yarding of fat sheep, 2064 being penned. Prices showed a decline of Is. per hood compared with last week's rateis. The majority of the entry consisted -of only fair' quality. Prime wethers, 32s'. to 365.; extra prime, to 495.; medium, 265. to fflsr; inferior, 225. to 235.; best ewes,. 276.: to 305.; extra, prime, to 37a; .'medium; 245. to' 255. Bd.; inferior, 20s. to 21s.'
The yarding of fat lambs was small, only about I<oo coming forward. Prices were very firm at last week's rates. A number of the lainbs showed signs of going back in condition owing to losing their teeth, and these were not competed for by freezing exporters; the competitionfrom graziers was very poor. Best lambs, to 30g. 3d 1 .; medium, 245. to 265.; inferior freezers, 18s. to 195.; forward stores, 15s. to 16s. .
There- wins e, medium yarding of ,fa.t : pigs-, and a good entry of stores. Competition for porkers and baconers "was firm «tt last week's rates, and stores were more keenly {competed for. Heavy haconers. to £4: heavy porkers, to £3; light porkers, to £2 155.; stores, to 265.; elips, let), to 18s. ; suckers, 7s. 6d. to 10s.
