LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
THE VON ZEDLITZ CASE. Sir, —I was glad to see your article ill to-day's Dominion re the von Zedlitz case.' Surely the Aliens Board must be composed of friends, of the Professor, who, no doubt,_ is a very nice man. So is tie Kaiser in his own country and when visiting England before the war. But however nice wo don't want, and won't have, Germans teaching our young people. There are many such teachers in Now Zealand at the present time, and wo should not rest until they I are all removed from the colleges, etc.,: that they are now teaching in, even if ■ naturalised, for "a German is a German still" whether naturalised or not, and we are acting in no patriotic part . in paying them salaries that should go to our own countrymen and women. In otlier countries Germans are not allowed to hold such important positions, then why should they be allowed to in New' Zealand? This is not a matter of personal feeling, but a duty we owe to our country and the young people growing; ■up in it, for if a teacher is what he should be he must influence those under him, and we surely don't want our young people to imbibe any German '. sympathies, ideas, etc.—l am, etc., INDIGNANT NEW ZEALANDER. , >
