NATIONAL PROVIDENT FUND
UNFAIR COMPETITION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, August 9. 'A deputation ■ representing the executive of the Friendly Societies of Canterbury waited on the Hon. G. W. Russell, and complained that the competition of the National Provident Fund was unfair, and cutting into the societies' work. Mr. Russell said lie would inquire into tho position; lio wished to help the societies, but he also thought tho fund would do good work.
