A THE CRIMINAL SESSIONS, The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court will commence in Wellington this morning. Cases set down for trial are as follow Hugh Douglas, alleged assault causing actual bodily harm, and alleged assault (two charges). Michael Helm, alleged forgery and uttering. John McCarthy, alleged obscene language. . • Thomas Albert Rafter, alleged indecency. Jeremiah Kirby, alleged tlieft. Margaret M'Hugh, alleged rogue and vagabond. John Dickson, alleged manslaughter. George Penman, alleged indecent assault (two charges). Gcorgo Pitcaithly, alleged theft (six charges). George Albert Ward, alleged theft and alleged theft of postal packet. John Cashman and tJharles Dempster, alleged theft. I Harold Hailing Howell,. alleged forgery and uttering. Lctitia. Jane Hood, alleged libel. James Ha-ssall, alleged conspiracy to defraud. Theodore Ritchey. Joyce, alleged forgery, ; MAGISTRATE'S COURT Mr. D. G. 'A'. Cooper S.M., presided at a brief silting of the Magistrate's Court on Saturday morning. On .a charge of indecency, John Cross was fined 405., the alternative being seven days' imprisonment with hard labour. The same accused was convicted and discharged for insobriety. Thomas Malone.v, charged with insobriety, was fined 205., in default to undergo tlireo days' imprisonment with hard labour Eight first offenders were also dealt with. On tlie application of Clnef-Detective Boddam, a man named Arthur Walter Henderson was remanded until August 14. It is alleged that Henderson stole a pair of field glasses and some other articles from the Y.M.C.A. Bail was granted in the sum of £100 and two sureties of £50 each.
