MR. ISITT IN PROTEST

. (To the Editor.) Sir,—As the adjournment of • the Houso prevents any protest there, I have considered it my duty to forward to the Hon. the Prime Minister the enclosed letter.—l am, ctc., LEONARD M. ISITT. 'August 6, 1915. (Copy.) To the Right Hon. the Prime Minister. Dear Mr. Massey,—l am moro 1 than surprised to see that notwithstanding the revelations contained in_ the evidence given beforo the Commission regarding Trontham and the fact that that_ Commission has not completed its inquiry, the Defence Department proposes to immediately transfer 1000 men to that camp. Whilst recognising that in the decision tho Minister of Defence (the Hon. J. Allen) may bo guided by his military advisers, I deem it my duty to utter a solemn and emphatic protost against this action on tho grounds that it anticipates and possibly ignores tho findings of the Commission. That it incurs a grave risk to the health of tho men and subjects their . friends', to anxiety that in my judgment is unnecessary • and unwari'antablo. I am compelled to adopt this method of protest owing to the Houso not being in session, and am sending a. copy of this letter to the Press.—Yours faithfully. LEONARL M. ISITI'.
