ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
FATALITY-AT RAILWAY STATION. (By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Masterton, August 5. 'A distressing accident occurred at tho Masterton railway station shortly before 6 o'clock this evening. Mrs. Krafcagen, wifo of Mr. A. W. Kraliagen, bootmaker, of Carterton, had been visiting friends at Masterton, and was about to leave for home.. She apparently got on tho train, going north, instead of that which was to go south. A few minutes later, when s'ho discovered her mistako, _and as . tho train was leaving, tlie. station, she jumped out and foil 'between tho' carriages, which' passed over her body. Her neck and thighs were broken. Deceased, who was a sister of Mr. W. Hawko, of Masterton, leaves a largo family. SUDDEN DEATH IN A SHOP. (By Telcimph.—Vreßs Association.) ■; • Oamaru, August 5. _ Miss ' Isabella Mulliiij aged 72 years, died' suddenly' to-day in a, shop while making a small purchase. She had not been'a'ling. Heart failure is assumed to be tlie cause. An inquest will be lield.' ' CHILD INJURED BY A MOTOR-CAR. A child named Stanley Ross, four years of age, was admitted to the Hospital last evening suffering from a slight fracture of the skull. The accident, it is alleged, was caused through the boy being knocked down by ' a motor-car. His father' is ,a bootmaker residing at 57 Wright Street.
