A BIG EARTHQUAKE
INTERIOR OF DUTCH NEW GUINEA. By Telegraph—Press Association—CoDVii»ht (Rec. April 4, 9.40 p.m.) Sydney, August 4.' The Riverview seismographs havo recorded a heavy earthquake, which has been located in the interior of Dutch New Guinea.
A droll walking' match was recently witnessed in Hcywood, England, by an immense crowd of spectators. The contestants were a man with ono leg and a crutch, and a man with a-cork log. The distance was ono mile, and the wager £10 a side. The cork leg easily won.
