NEW ZEALAND HOSPITAL SHIP
ITINERARY OF'THE MAHENO, His Excellency -tho Governor has received official information from the Secretary of Stato flor War to tho effect that tho New Zealand Hospital Ship Maheno will proaeed direct from Port Said to England, ,I'or the purpose of receiving as many as possible of tho men who aro incapacitated for further foreign service, and returning them to New Zealand. The Mahono is Idno to arrive in Great Britain towards tine end of August, and will commence her return journey to New Zealand in the early days of September. The liime of her arrival in Now Zealand wiß be approximately between October 12 and 24. 'Further particulars as -to tflicse dates will, however, be publisheji later. The Secretary of State for War lias informed tho Governor that as soon, as the Maheno leav-es tho United Kingdom a complete list will be sent of those invalids on board and their condition.
Mails for'tho Maheno after this week should be addressed care of the officer commanding Nevi Zealand Hospital. Ship Maheno, Colombo, Ceylon, and this direction applies "to mails leaving New Zealand up to but not later than August 26. 'As poon as the 'Governor knows the exact date of the departure of tlio steamer :from England, it will be possible to stivto definitely the ports of call where mails , can catch the Maheno after she loaves Ceylon.
The Secretary'of Stato for War has further intimate/d to His Excellency that he would be glad if, after her arrival in New Zeailand, the Maheho could return as; soon as possible to Egypt, where she will receive a second consignment of invalids; to be returned to New Zealand. To this arrangement the Now Zealand Government has readily acquiesced.
