THE £1000 NUGGET WON BY R. BEBAN & P. POWER. OF GREYMOUTH Perhaps the most interesting feature of the entertainment given in tho Town jHa-11 last evening by the Tramways Boys' Carnival Committee was the drawing of a number of art unions left over from tlio Carnival. Tho chief of tlieso was the drawing of the £1000 nugget art union, tickets for which were sold throughout New Zealand. This was tlio only art union drawn upon the stage, the others having occupied the attention of tho Patriotic Society's Ballot Committee tho whole of tho evening. Tho_ certificate testifying that all tho butts in the barrel represented tickets sold was read, after which the contents of the barrel wcro given a good churning, and a little girl named Hazel Read, turning her head towards the audience, drew forth the lucky ticket. It was No. -136, and bore the names of R. Beban and P. Power, whose address was given as tho Club Hotel; Groymouth. Other raft'es drawn last night and announced to the audience were as follow :— "l'iclc" car (Patriotic Society's car): No. 38,164; holder, S. .Veitcn, Railways, Wellington. Wellington Gas Company's Employees' Raffle (St. John Ambulance Association): No. 795; winner, Bobbie Burns, 10G' Daniel Street, Wellington. Painted Mirrors (presented by Road and Fenwick (Patriotic Society): Nos. 2254 (W. Taylor), 2755 (Jlr.
