THE" RUSSIAN CRISIS : !■ READY FOR A RETREAT By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright ■ (llec. July. 31, 0.30 a.m.) London, July 30. The "Times" Warsaw correspondent says he ;<loes not believe there will be 1 any fighting in the vicinity of Warsaw, probably only a rearguard action between Warsaw and the now line. The "Daily Mail's" Petrograd correspondent states that the retirement from Warsaw will he voluntary and orderly. There will be "no pressure by the enemy, and everything useful to tho enomy will be taken a,way. Only the troops ill the centro will have a considerable distance to march, and these are ready to move. Everything lias been prepared for g; rapid transfer to new positions.
KAISER MAKES A SPEECH. (Rec. July. 31, 1.25 a.m.) Petrograd, July 30. A' German prisoner states that when the Kaiser visited tlie Eastern front ha addressed the troops, saying; "If I had a thousand sons I would send them all to death in honour of Germany." The Kaiser-spoke .a great deal. We were tired of listening. An hour later we wero sent to the attack. The Kaiser, scolded the officers for being too lenient, and said that leaders who were too soft to their subordinates were useless in war time. "In a just cause," he said, "I am ready>to'force myself to ,be cruel."
