Balfour, Lord Reay, Lord Cromer, Monseignor Benson, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and many litterateurs, have sent a letter to Italy expressing admiration of her-con-duct in a supreme world crisis. The newspapers express satisfaction with the British., manifesto, . "which proves- the traditional . Anglo-Ital-ian friendship." The two most, maritime Powers of old Europe, ihoy d&< clare, were destined to march together, and when the-history of the war was written, tho place of honour must- be given to, Anglo-Italian diplomacy.
