ILLNESS OF DR. SAVAGE
« AVHO IS NOAV IN CAIRO. (By Telcsrai)h—Press Afisociatloa.l Auckland, July 28. Advice, has been received that Major T. Copelaud Savage, of Auckland, lias been seriously ill, but cablegrams received this evening indicate that he is now out of danger. Major Savage, who is_ ono of the city's leading surgeons, is second in command of the second New Zealand stationary hospital which proceeded to Egypt with the sth Reinforcement Contjngent. His illness has. evidently been a sudden one, for on Sunday he sent a cablegram to Mrs. Savage, who is in Auckland, announcing his arrival in Cairo, and stating that he was well. On Tuesday advice was received from Lieutenant-Colonel W. H. Partes, officer commanding the hospital that..Major Savage was seriously ill with septicaemia. A further report received yesterday stated that, the fever had subsided, and that Major Savage's strength was ma,intained. Late in the 1 afternoon another cablegram- reported: '"Major Savage improving." Major Savage is in hospital in Cairo.
