APPEAL FOR DAY.OF PRAYER.
Sir,—August 4t'h, the' first anniversary of- the declaration of war, is draV'ing near, and the thoughts of all will naturally turn to the losses we have sustained -through twelve months of fighting.. Many homes have been overcast with bereavement, and mkny mothers are ie'art-broken. As one who has four sons on activo service,' I can fully understand • tile- feelings ■' of those whose boys are gone. I would suggest that in. this time of widespread 'sorrow, we set apart August ,4th as - a day of prayef. To this end I would urge every mother, to request the authorities to declare that day, throughout tho Dominion, as a time for waiting upon God. Already,_ I understand, tho Ministers' 'Associations in, many places are arranging in this direction, but it would be much more fitting if tho Dominion as a whole observed the day. I trust that tliis_ suggestion will be taken up wit'h spirit.—l am, etc., . MOTHER.
