I- ■ and depots at Riga are moving plant and goods to tho interior. BATTLE SITUATION REMAINS OBSCURE THE STRENGTH OF THE ENEMI'S ONSET. "■ » (Rec. July 26, 9.35 p.m.) - London, July 26. The "Daily Telegraph's" Petrograd correspondent says that the.situation remains obscure. The battle line is advancing and receding at different points, neither decisively nor successfully. It is authoritatively computed that the recent blows wore inflicted 011 Russia by seventy Gorman and fbrtj'-eight Austrian divisions, four German and eleven Austrian cavalry brigades, and large bodies of Austro-German Landsturm. Seven hundred and fifty thousand of the enemy are between the Vistula and tlie Bug, two-thirds of those being German. _ Four army corps-are operating against the Novo Georgievsk-Ivangorod line. Neither of these is besieged, nor yet is the heavy artillery. It is thought possible the enemy will endeavour to contain these fortresses with a curtain of troops, reserving the main forces for field operations. It is hinted that the advancing enemy at Kovno will soon be stubbornly, resisted. . '
