PATRIOTIC COMPETITIONS
By Telegraph.—Press Aesociation. Pahiatua, July 24. The Pahiatua Musical and Elocutionary Competitions liave concluded. The later'results are:—Patriotic Recitations: Gentlemen, J. A. Walsh 1, 'J. A. Gibbons' 2; ladies, Miss M'Davitt 1, Miss Morton 2. Five comediettas were staged. "Medusa Quackenboss" was placed first, and "The Confidential Clerk" second. Both are Pahiatua companies, and tliey gave splendid performances.
