CRICKET CLUB SOCIAL
■ : —» The Wellington Railway Cricket Club hold its annual "social" in the Railway Social Club Hall on Saturday-evening. Mr. A. W. Hutcliings presided over a larg9 gathering. The evening passed most enjoyably.' The toast list was as follows: "Warehousemen's Association," proposed by Mr.' C. E. Simmons and responded to by Mr.' A. Simin; "Onr Guests," proposed by Mr. ". Pauson and responded to by Mr. L. W. Hanlon; "Our Boys at the Front," proposed by Mr. A. C. Thomson; "Our Opponents," proposed by Mr. C. W. R. Watson and responded to by Messrs. Gully and- Winter; "The Ladies," proposed by Mr. Simpson and responded to by Mr.'N. R. Isaacs. During tho evening tho chairman of the Warehousemen's Association, presented the Kernot Cup (which was won by the Railway A team in the Warehousemen's Association championship)) to the captain of the team, Mr. C. R. Watson. Trophies given by Mr. E. A. Dawson were also presented to Messrs., A. Boyd and A, Cornfoot (for tho highest batting averagos), and T. Dooley (for tho highest bowling, average). ' An enjoyable nvusieal programme was contributed to by the following:— Messrs. Clarkson, L. W. Hanlon, A. Boyd, M. Gibson, A, P. Dwan, and M'Kay.
