CLOSE OF, THE CONFERENCE. The sitting of tbo_ delegates of the Public Service Association to> the annual cpnferenco was concluded yesterday. ' i A resolution was passed "that the. conference of the executive council of the New Zealand Public Service' Association; on behalf of the public servants of New Zealand, place on record its full confidence in tho Public Service Appeal Board, and express its appreciation at the fair and impartial manner in which it has carried out its functions." During the morning the delegates waited upon the Public Service Commissioner and submitted.to liini the resit of their deliberations so far as they affect his control of tho service. A sympathetic hearing was accorded to the deputation by_ tho Commissioner, who promised to : give full consideration to the matters referred to. Mr. J. W. Macdonald, president of the association, was spokesman on behalf of the deleAt the unanimous desire of tho delegates Mr. J. W. Macdonald was reelected president. Other officers were elected as follow Vice-presidents, Messrs. TV. M. Wright and 6. Allport; general secretary, Mr. F. W. Millar; general treasurer, Mr. W. B. Dallard; auditor, Mr. G. C. Smith; solicitor, Mr'. M. Myers; members of executive, Auckland, Mr. C. R. Robinson; Soutli Auckland and Gisbome, Mr. .W, M. Wright; Hawke's Bay, Taranaki and Palnierston North, Mr. S. Kirk; Wellington, Messrs. J. F. O'Leary, J. H. Hawthorn, T. Ward, and S. L. Learell ; 1 Marlborough and Nelson, Mr. J. W. Macdonald; West Coast, Mr- »• W. Coak; Canterbury, Mr. W. B. CarTad r Oiago, Mr. J. Murray: Southland, Mr. T. H. Sherwood and Misseß Palmer and Roulston.
