Porter (owes 20) beat Miss E. .Stevens (rec. 20); Mts. Player (rec. 20) beat Miss Howe (rec. 30); Mrs. Chant (owes 30) beat Miss 0. Stace (owes 20).
All the games were closely contested and there was very little to choose between any of the winners or losers, as in every case only a few points separated them. Both players cue nicely, and displayed unusual Judgment. The best break of the evening was Mrs. Chant's 26 /
To-night both' the semi-finals and finals will be played and some excellent games can be looked for. Play will commence at 7 o'clock sharp, and any gentleman desirous of. witnessing ■it must be accompanied by a lady. .'
