N.Z. APPLES IN LONDON
Referring to tlie New Zealand apples sold in Covent Garden.' in May, .tho "Daily Chronicle" says:—"Mr. Garcia, of the firm of Messrs. Garcia and .Jacobs, describes the apples, as being in most excellent condition and splendidly packed. Tho fruit realised exceptionally high prices, 3d. and 4d. per applo being paid for some samples of Cox's Orange Pippin. This is no indication of;what a quantity would realise, but .there can ho no, doubt that apples in siich a fine- condition would be much sought after. . . There is no reason why New Zealand apples should not occupy as good «v position in our markets as Australian and Tasmanian fruit already does.".
