This week's Belgian competition, a medal handicap for Which a trophy was given by Mr. E. C. Holmwogd, was woji. by A. E. Whyte (handicap 8), 77 net. The best cards were: —A. E. Whyte, 85—8—77; G. L. C. Cuthbertson; 82 —4—78; R. L. D. Kidston, 79 —scr. —79; L. C. Hales, 85 —6—79. Entrance fees were £2 2s.
In playing off the tie for the previous week's Belgian competition, the winner was W. T. Doughty (scr.), all square with bogy. , Medal handicap and qualifying round. —The best cards were: G. S. Matthews, 93—20—73; F. P. Wilson, 88—12—76; P. I>. Webb, 97—20—77; H. S. Hislop, 91 —14 —77; W. T. Doughty (scr.), 79 ; R. P. Ward, 84—5—79. Bogy handicap, July 3.—ln playing off tho tie, this was won by P. P. Webb, one down on bogy. The, mixed foursomes are to be played next Saturday. Striking testimony of the Challenger Golf Ball.
