YACHTSMEN ASHORE

TE-RURTJ CLUB SOCIAL, Tlio To Ryru Yacht Club hold its animal smoke concert and distribution of prizes at Scott's rooms, Manners Street, on Friday evening last. The commodoro, Mr. W. Waddilovo, was in the chair. The prizes were presented by Mr. J. J.- Clarke, vice-president of the club. Tlio principal toasts of the evening were "Tlio Boys at the Front" (by Major A. E. Petiicrick), "Donors of Trophies" (Mr. F. Kienian), and "The Harbour Board" (Mr. J. Mac Donald), to which Captain Dawson, tarbourinaster, responded.

A prize was presented by Mr. J.. B. Speed for tho most gonial member and was won by Mr. H. Olsen.

The! racing results of the season wero aa follow:—Rawene, 3 firsts, 3 seconds (championship); Sea Bird, 2 firsts and •! seconds; Muritai, 2 firsts and 2 seconds; White. Wings, 2 firsts; Essex, 2 firsts and 2 seconds; Lizzie, 1 first and 1 second; Nomad, 1 first; Trixio, 1 first; Miritu, 1 first; Nail, 1 first; Viking, 1 second; Irex, 1 second; Lotus, 1 socond; Petrel, 1 second. The launch Phyllis retains the rose bowl for tlio ensuing season, the Rapier winning second prize.. Tlio Nikau won the life-saving competition,
