WAR TAXATION.
Sir, —Now the Houso is in session, Ministers ought to consider whether it would not bo advisable to put a sheep tax of, say, ono penny per head on sheep. It certainly could not be a very great hardship, seeing the very high prices obtained for woof, and likely to be so for some time. Last season very largo profits were made by wool-growers. If the Government is groping round for a means of raising money, here is a chance to make a gain—where no ono can he offended. —I am, etc., HENRY WALTON. AVaikanae, July 15, 1915.
