SAILORS FRIEND SOCIETY
At the Sailors' Friend Society last evening a very successful concert was held. The performers wore:—The Misses Longton, Mueller, and Fathers, and Messrs. Page, Noble, Beard, Tugwell, Hunter (R.M.S. Athenic). Britton, and Collins (R.M.S. Corinthic). Miss Longton was the accompanist. The short story' competition . brought out some rare fun. Tho following motion was moved and seconded by seamen:— "That this meeting desires to show its hearty appreciation of the splendid bravery of'tho troops who returned today, and wishes them and their comrades renewed halth." This was received with cheers, all standing.
