LlFfc-SAVING SOCIETY MEETS. A meeting of tho Wellington Head Centre of the lloyal Life Saving Society was hold oil Monday, Mr. G. S. Hill presiding. 'Feeling refcrcnce was made by the chairman to the recent death of Garland Morgan, a prominent member of the society- A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the decoased was carried. ■ ,
A letter was received., from tTio secretary of tile Dominion executive, stating that an endeavour was* being made to have the 'following nilo of tlio N.Z.A.S.A. deleted: "The N.Z.A.S.A. prevents any person who holds a seat on the Dominion oxccutivo or/any centre of the Royal Life-Savirig Society from having a seat on the council ■of the N.Z.A.S.A." After discussion, the matter was left in the. hands of the chairman and secretary to deal with.
The personnel, of the Blenheim suhccnfcro'a executive was approved and affiliation granted. Messrs. W. M. Lam bio and G. 6. Hancox were appointed life-saving examiners in Blenheim, ■
The following awards were approved: —Hon. teacher's certificate, Miss Mary M. Nolan ' (Maranui Svtrf and L.S. Club); proficiency certificates, Misses Agnes C. AValker, Maude H. Allen, Margaret M. Wooller, Iris M. Warren, Teresa M. Hickey, Mary M. O'Driscoll, Eileen M. Pender.
The proficicncy certificate candidates are all pupils of the Sacred Heart Convent, Boulcott Street, and they are the first ladies from a primary school to gain the awards.
