Electron Theory ,of .the Conduction,'of' Electricity, in Metals.";' Professor Marsden : shewed: how by applying the principle of tho kinetic theory =' of gases to. the free elections'in metals, the conductivity of a. .metal could' ho predetermined. He also showed : the relation between the electric . conductivity ■ and. heat;■ conductivity of metals, and'.'hoV. this relation is borne out by experience.: Professor Marsden. also applied the theory to a dielectrics and ' to ■ several well-known phenomena such' as; the! Hall effect, P eltus effect, Edison effect, etq. : At the conclusion of the lecture: a' number of ' questions were, answered by the .lecturer, and on the motion'.: of the chairman' (Mr. B. W. Holmes) he. was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. " v.
