CALL FOR MEN
AND NEW ZEALAND'S ANSWER. , (To the Editor.) .. . , Sir,—From every district in the Dominion there l come complaints from Hundreds .of men who are utterly weary of waiting for their turn -to bo called into training. ■Iu Australia every man has been/sent into camp as soon as ho enlists,, and.-.yet equipment has never been lacking (boots and uniform). . In this-Dominion 1 the authorities ,at stated times call in those they require, and have been expecting for weeks or mouths, and then clothes arc lacking. It merely shows the lack of common business acumen. But the grave question is: What is the real reason, why we do riot send more men when the nation is' in" peril; and the men are crying out to go?; I know of men who-have enlisted, weeks ago being. told officially that they, may not be wanted , until tlie cud of the year. Iu spite of all the so-called "explanations,' . the loyalists in the Dommion'''are'becomiife sick at heart at the comparative apathy of the Government in this .hour of crisis. We could easily .double the forces we have sent, and we .should do.it at once. It may be too late to-morrow.—l am, etc., A RECRUIT WHO IS WEARY OF WAITING.
